See king penguins in the Falkland Islands

The Falkland Islands lie off the coast of Tierra del Fuego in the southern Atlantic. At the ‘end of the world’, the blue of the water meets the green of the moorland peat bog, a peaceful landscape of meadows dotted with coves and bays. On the Volunteer Point peninsula or on Saunders Island, you won’t be able to miss the emblematic and gigantic colonies of king penguins. With their long, erect silhouettes, dressed entirely in black and white, their throats and beaks adorned in bright orange, they waddle along the beach, their beaks pointed skywards as if to grow taller. Truly majestic!

Learn about the mola art of the Kunas women

Welcome to the San Blas Islands, a Panamanian archipelago in the Caribbean Sea. You are surrounded by white sand, transparent waters and coral islets. It was here, amid palm trees and dugout canoes, that the Kuna Amerindian people settled. The women preserve the tradition of molas, a centuries-old art of fabric appliqué inspired by the primitive body paintings that adorned their bodies before the arrival of the Spanish. Instead of these ancestral tattoos, you can now see them proudly wearing their colourful tunics, expressions of their identity.
