Welcome to the French Southern Territories

Last month, @lecommandantcharcot approached the coasts of the Kerguelen and Crozet Islands.

These two archipelagos of the French Southern and Antarctic Territories, which have no permanent population, are among the most isolated territories in the world.

Essential for science and biodiversity, these lands have revealed their sub-Antarctic shores in all their immensity, where tens of thousands of birds and sea lions roam freely in a natural environment that remains untouched.

A rare experience made possible aboard Le Commandant Charcot with Captain Stanislas Devorsine.

Bienvenue dans les Terres australes françaises

Le mois dernier, Le Commandant Charcot approchait les côtes des îles Kerguelen et Crozet.

Ces deux archipels des Terres australes et antarctiques françaises, sans population permanente, comptent parmi les territoires les plus isolés au monde.

Essentielles pour la science et la biodiversité, ces terres ont dévoilé leurs rivages subantarctiques dans toute leur immensité, où des dizaines de milliers d’oiseaux et d’otaries peuplent librement une nature restée intacte.
