2. Approach the South Magnetic Pole<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The great adventure of polar exploration<\/strong> enabled 19th-century navigators to locate the magnetic South Pole<\/strong>, where the Earth\u2019s geomagnetic field lines converge. Unlike the geographic South Pole<\/strong>, the coordinates of the magnetic South Pole are not fixed. 3. Sail alongside the longest ice shelf in the world<\/strong><\/h3>\n

A \u201clarge ice shelf preventing us from continuing our course further south\u201d<\/em>. This was how James Clark Ross<\/strong> described what is now the longest ice shelf in the world. <\/strong>This natural wall seems to block the sea, named the Ross Sea<\/a><\/u> in honour of the pioneering navigator.
