The coldest temperature in the world was recorded there in 2010: -92 °C.

[/et_pb_text][/et_pb_column][et_pb_column type=”1_2″ _builder_version=”4.7.7″ _module_preset=”default”][et_pb_divider show_divider=”off” _builder_version=”4.7.7″ _module_preset=”default” background_image=”https://escales.ponant.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/COUCHER-DE-SOLEIL-2-Antarctique©StudioPonant-Morgane-MONNERET.jpg” module_alignment=”center” height=”100%” height_tablet=”350px” height_phone=”280px” height_last_edited=”on|desktop” border_color_right=”#ffffff” border_width_all_tablet=”” border_width_all_phone=”” border_width_all_last_edited=”on|desktop” border_width_right_tablet=”0px” border_width_right_phone=”” border_width_right_last_edited=”on|phone”][/et_pb_divider][/et_pb_column][/et_pb_row][et_pb_row column_structure=”1_2,1_2″ make_equal=”on” _builder_version=”4.7.7″ _module_preset=”default” width=”100%” max_width=”1000px” module_alignment=”center” custom_padding=”0px||0px||true|false”][et_pb_column type=”1_2″ _builder_version=”4.7.7″ _module_preset=”default”][et_pb_divider show_divider=”off” _builder_version=”4.7.7″ _module_preset=”default” background_image=”https://escales.ponant.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/Antar-6.jpg” module_alignment=”center” height=”100%” height_tablet=”350px” height_phone=”280px” height_last_edited=”on|desktop” border_color_right=”#ffffff” border_width_all_tablet=”” border_width_all_phone=”” border_width_all_last_edited=”on|desktop” border_width_right_tablet=”0px” border_width_right_phone=”” border_width_right_last_edited=”on|phone”][/et_pb_divider][/et_pb_column][et_pb_column type=”1_2″ _builder_version=”4.7.7″ _module_preset=”default”][et_pb_text _builder_version=”4.7.7″ _module_preset=”default” text_font=”||||||||” text_line_height=”1.8em” link_font=”||||on||||” header_2_font=”|300|||||||” header_2_text_color=”#334556″ header_2_font_size=”38px” header_3_font=”|600|||||||” header_3_text_color=”#307f90″ header_3_font_size=”26px” header_3_line_height=”1.4em” header_4_font=”|600|||||||” header_4_text_color=”#334556″ header_4_font_size=”22px” header_4_line_height=”2em” header_5_font=”|700|||||||” header_5_text_color=”#307f90″ header_5_font_size=”18px” header_6_font=”|600|||||||” header_6_font_size=”16px” custom_padding=”50px|30px|80px|50px|false|false” custom_padding_tablet=”||50px||false|false” custom_padding_phone=”|||40px|false|false” custom_padding_last_edited=”on|phone”]

6.There is a Chilean village in Antarctica

This civilian settlement, which is also a research station, bears the lovely name of Villa Las Estrellas (“The City of Stars”). Antarctica is not open to visitors the rest of the year: it is dark most of the time and temperatures are too low to bear.

[/et_pb_text][/et_pb_column][/et_pb_row][/et_pb_section][et_pb_section fb_built=”1″ _builder_version=”4.7.7″ _module_preset=”default” custom_padding=”0px||0px||false|false”][et_pb_row _builder_version=”4.7.7″ _module_preset=”default” max_width=”900px” custom_padding=”0px||0px||true|false”][et_pb_column type=”4_4″ _builder_version=”4.7.4″ _module_preset=”default”][et_pb_text _builder_version=”4.7.7″ _module_preset=”default” header_2_font=”|300|||||||” header_2_text_color=”#334556″ header_2_font_size=”38px” header_2_line_height=”1.4em” header_3_font=”|600|||||||” header_3_text_color=”#307f90″ header_3_font_size=”26px” custom_padding=”21px||21px||true|”]

The “white continent” remains a land of mysteries, where there is still much to be discovered.

[/et_pb_text][/et_pb_column][/et_pb_row][/et_pb_section][et_pb_section fb_built=”1″ admin_label=”PUSH” _builder_version=”4.7.7″ _module_preset=”default” custom_padding=”||0px||false|false”][et_pb_row column_structure=”1_2,1_2″ _builder_version=”4.7.7″ _module_preset=”default” background_color=”#334556″][et_pb_column type=”1_2″ _builder_version=”4.7.7″ _module_preset=”default” custom_padding=”|50px||50px|false|true”][et_pb_image src=”https://escales.ponant.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/push-croisiere-ponant-3.jpg” title_text=”push-croisiere-ponant-3″ align=”center” _builder_version=”4.7.7″ _module_preset=”default” max_width=”445px” module_alignment=”center” max_height=”445px” custom_margin=”-90px||||false|false” custom_padding=”||20px||false|false”][/et_pb_image][/et_pb_column][et_pb_column type=”1_2″ _builder_version=”4.7.7″ _module_preset=”default” custom_padding=”|50px|||false|false” custom_padding_tablet=”|50px||50px|false|false” custom_padding_phone=”|20px||20px|false|true” custom_padding_last_edited=”on|phone”][et_pb_text _builder_version=”4.7.7″ _module_preset=”default” text_font=”|700|||||||” text_text_color=”#ffffff” text_font_size=”38px” text_line_height=”1.4em” width=”70%” width_tablet=”100%” width_phone=”” width_last_edited=”on|desktop” custom_margin=”10px||20px||false|false” custom_padding=”|||20px|false|false” text_font_size_tablet=”” text_font_size_phone=”25px” text_font_size_last_edited=”on|tablet” border_width_left=”5px” border_color_left=”#26afc2″]

PONANT takes you there

[/et_pb_text][et_pb_text _builder_version=”4.7.7″ _module_preset=”default” text_text_color=”#ffffff” width=”70%” width_tablet=”100%” width_phone=”” width_last_edited=”on|desktop”]

For a long time a ghost on the world map, discover the “White Continent”, this vast frozen wilderness with spectacular landscapes.

[/et_pb_text][et_pb_button button_url=”https://en.ponant.com/destinations/antarctica” url_new_window=”on” button_text=”VIEW CRUISES” button_alignment=”left” _builder_version=”4.7.7″ _module_preset=”default” custom_margin=”20px||20px||false|false”][/et_pb_button][/et_pb_column][/et_pb_row][/et_pb_section]

[24
["post-6404","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-get-ready

<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v26.9 -
