The\u00a0<\/span>Chim\u00fa people<\/b>\u00a0were defeated by the rise, then domination, of the Inca civilisation in this part of the world. And visiting Chan Chan means reconnecting with Chim\u00fa culture, missing from the chapters of pre-Columbian history. Incidentally, Chan Chan was the birthplace and capital of the\u00a0<\/span>Kingdom of Chimor<\/b>\u2013 the subjects of which were the Chim\u00fa. Organised according to strict hierarchical rules, the city of Chan Chan was an\u00a0<\/span>unbounded maze<\/b>.
