It is the result of\u00a0<b>forces exerted by the Moon<\/b>\u00a0and the\u00a0<b>Sun<\/b>\u00a0on the sea combined with the\u00a0<b>rotation of the Earth<\/b>\u00a0which generates a centrifugal force. This so-called gravitational force varies depending on the position of the Moon and the Sun in relation to the Earth: if they are on the same side or directly opposite each other, there will be a\u00a0<b>high tide<\/b>. It usually varies between 20 and 120. The higher the tidal coefficient, the larger the\u00a0<b>tidal range<\/b>\u00a0\u2013 i.e. the difference in water height between high and low tide. This means that the sea level rises and falls back a long way. The mean value is 70. We talk of\u00a0<b>strong tides<\/b>\u00a0\u2013 called\u00a0<b>spring tides<\/b>\u00a0\u2013 from coefficient 95. \u00a0Conversely,\u00a0<b>weak tides<\/b>\u00a0are called\u00a0<b>neap tides<\/b>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><\/span><\/p>\n<h3>3.
