Polargebiete verstehen und sch\u00fctzen: eine gemeinsame Mission<\/h3>\n

Abgeschiedenheit, K\u00e4lte, Eis und St\u00fcrme machen polare Gebiete zu unzug\u00e4nglichen Orten<\/strong>. Die Arbeit dort erfordert spezifische Infrastrukturen. Zahlreiche Forschungsstationen<\/strong> wurden zwischen 1957 und 1959 in der Arktis und in der Antarktis gebaut, als der Antarktisvertrag unterzeichnet wurde. Frankreich errichtete 1956 die Station Dumont D\u2019Urville im Ad\u00e9lieland<\/strong> und leitet gemeinsam mit italienischen Teams die kontinentale Station Dome C. In Spitzbergen richtete Frankreich seine Station in der internationalen Basis von Ny-\u00c5lesund<\/strong> ein. Um die hohen Kosten polarer Missionen zu teilen, schlie\u00dfen sich Forschungseinrichtungen typischerweise zusammen und bilden internationale Netzwerke<\/strong>. 2020 war an der arktischen MOSAIC-Expedition, die auf dem deutschen Eisbrecher Polarstern<\/em> stattfand, 15 L\u00e4nder beteiligt.<\/p>\n

Le Commandant Charcot<\/em>, eine einzigartige Beobachtungsplattform<\/h3>\n

F\u00fcr Wissenschaftler erm\u00f6glicht die direkte Beobachtung von Feldregionen<\/strong>, Gebiete zu verstehen, die zuvor nur aus der Ferne, aus Laboratorien heraus, untersucht wurden. Die Forschung vor Ort hilft, Korrelationen mit theoretischen Modellen herzustellen. Eisbrecher, die der Polarforschung gewidmet sind, sind selten. In der Antarktis m\u00fcssen Wissenschaftler oft auf andere Schiffe zur\u00fcckgreifen, wie Fischerei-, Handels- oder Tourismusschiffe, die dann zu Plattformen f\u00fcr wissenschaftliche Gelegenheiten<\/strong> werden.
